16-Year-Old Admits To Killing N.Y. Radio Host

Suspect Made Comments On MySpace Implicating Himself In The Crime

Reportedly Answered George Weber's 'Rough Sex' Ad On Craigslist

NEW YORK (CBS) ― 50 times. That's how many times a teenage suspect allegedly stabbed radio reporter George Weber, CBS station WCBS-TV reports.

Police say the 16-year-old teenage male confessed to killing Weber in a drug and alcohol-fueled frenzy.

John Katehis of East Elmhurst was picked up in Orange County Tuesday evening and brought to the 76th Precinct in Brooklyn.

According to police, Katehis admitted to stabbing Weber after he claimed the newsman pulled a knife on him. But the 16-year-old said he couldn't remember how many times he stabbed him because he "blanked out" during the cocaine and vodka induced rage.

The Queens native told police he met Weber after answering an ad on Craigslist looking for "rough sex."

Weber invited him into his Brownstone apartment on Friday night and neighbors reported seeing him pacing out front of the building, talking on a cell phone.

The body of the well-liked radio newsman was found Sunday morning. His ankles were bound with duct tape. Wounds on his hands indicate he tried to fight back.

Neighbors in Carroll Gardens were relieved by news of the teenager's arrest:

"Maybe he didn't know he was 16 because on the internet you don't always know the age," said neighbor Therea Muscianesi. "It's very sad for everyone."

"It's someone he brought here. I'm just relieved it's not a crazy person here in the neighborhood," said neighbor Laura Bloom.

Weber's family is said to be devastated by the loss of their beloved "Jordy."

A memorial service is said to be in the works, but the arrangements haven't been finalized.
