Plane From Calif. Crashes In Arizona, 4 Dead

HOLBROOK, Ariz. (CBS) ― Authorities say four people are dead after a small plane crashed at the Holbrook airport late Wednesday afternoon, CBS station KPIX-TV reported.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor said the twin-engine Beachcraft had flown from Santa Rosa, Calif. to the northeastern town of Holbrook and was headed to Lago Vista, Texas, which is outside of Austin.

Gregor said the plane crashed on takeoff about 5 p.m. MST and caught fire on impact.

He said all four people aboard the plane were killed.

Gregor said the names and hometowns of the victims were not immediately known.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.
