Man Robs Women's Clothing Store At Woodfield Mall
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (STNG) ―
A man brandishing a gun robbed a women's clothing store in a northwest suburban mall Wednesday night.
The suspect entered the store in Woodfield Mall at Meacham and Golf roads about 8:50 p.m. Wednesday. He displayed a gun and then fled on foot into the mall with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to Schaumburg police.
Marc Strich, general manager of the mall, said a robbery took place at one of the stores just before the mall closed at 9 p.m., but declined to identify the store robbed. He said the mall houses about 270-300 stores at any given time.
Police also are not releasing the store's name, Sgt. John Nebl said.
No one was injured in the incident, and witnesses helped police develop a composite sketch of the offender, police said.
He is described as a male white or Hispanic in his late 20s, 6 feet and 215 to 220 pounds with short brown hair and a thin mustache. He was wearing a dark brown sweater and light blue jeans.
No one was in custody as of Thursday afternoon, Nebl said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Schaumburg police Det. Art Kwiatkowski at (847) 882-3586.
