Prosecutors Investigate If Woman Blackmailed Teen

SLEEPY HOLLOW, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) ― Kane County State's Attorney John Barsanti said his office is investigating accusations that a Sleepy Hollow woman used nude pictures of a 13-year-old boy to blackmail him.

The woman, whose name has not been released by police pending charges, allegedly used nude pictures of her daughter's one-time boyfriend in a bid to force the boy back into a relationship with her daughter. The boy and girl — both 13 — reportedly had exchanged electronic images of one another.

"We're investigating," Barsanti said during a meeting Tuesday with reporters, adding that his office is working with Sleepy Hollow police to try to determine the facts of the case.

"It's odd to say the least," he said. "We're trying to see if there's a violation of the law here."

Sleepy Hollow Police Chief Jim Montalbano could not be reached at his office on Tuesday.
