Flu Closes Wheaton Academy In West Chicago
No Classes At School On Friday
WEST CHICAGO, Ill. (CBS) ―
The flu means no school Friday at Wheaton Academy in West Chicago.
School officials say the school is closing as a "preventative measure" in response to some cases of the H1N1 virus.
The school confirmed to CBS 2 that less than 20 percent of the 660 students at the school are absent, which is about the same as what would be expected in February at the peak of the flu season.
The school was scheduled to be closed on Monday and Tuesday for parent-teacher conferences anyway, but the extra day will give students a chance to get better.
