Police investigate after an officer shot and wounded a man during a botched robbery in the East Garfield Park neighborhood.

Police shot and wounded a suspect who allegedly fired at officers during a botched robbery late Wednesday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood.
A Grand Central Area gang enforcement team was on the road at 11:30 p.m., when they saw three men driving erratically near Whipple and Madison streets.
When he officers pulled over the vehicle, two of the men inside got out and ran off.
A short foot chase began, at which point the one of the men fired at the officer. The officer fired back and hut the offender, who was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in an unknown condition with a gunshot to the leg, police said.
A second offender was arrested without incident nearby, police said.
No officers were hurt in the incident.
A gun was recovered at the scene, police said.
The third suspect in the case, who was driving the car, is still on the loose.
