1 Dead, 2 Injured In West Loop Nightclub Shooting
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ―
A man was killed and at least one other man wounded during a shooting inside a West Loop nightclub early Friday.
Two men were shot by an unknown offender inside the Transit Nightclub at 1431 W. Lake St. about 2:30 a.m., police said. A third man may have also been hurt when he was struck by a table, according to a police source.
A 28-year-old man who was shot at the Lake Street address was pronounced dead at 4:04 a.m. at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. The man's name was not immediately available.
The victim was initially taken to Stroger in critical condition, according to police, who said the other man who was shot was also taken to Stroger and was in "stable" condition.
As of 9:25 a.m. no one was in custody and the homicide investigation is ongoing, according to police News Affairs Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti.
Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
