Man Killed At South Side Party
CHICAGO (STNG) ―
A 27-year-old man was killed and two other men wounded in a shooting at a party in the Washington Park area on the South Side Saturday night.
The shooting happened about 10:50 p.m. on the 5700 block of South LaSalle Street, according to a report from the police First Deputy Superintendent's office. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office, the shooting happened at 5746 S. LaSalle St.
The three men were at a party at that location when someone entered, firing a weapon and struck them, the deputy's report said.
The 27-year-old, Timmy Russell, of 6000 S. Albany Ave., suffered a gunshot wound to the head, according to the medical examiner's office. Russell was pronounced dead at the Stein Institute at 1:35 a.m.
A 24-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his hand and a 19-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the back, police said. These two men were taken to the University of Chicago Hospitals, where their condition was stable as of early Sunday, according to the deputy's report.
The shooter fled the scene and was not in custody as of early Sunday.
Wentworth Area detectives are invetsigating.
