Grace Period For Chicago Voters Until Jan. 22

Chicago voters are registering in droves in advance of the Feb. 5 primary.

Voter registration is now closed for the City of Chicago, but voters may still register or update their records to vote at Chicago Election Board Headquarters during two-week grace period.
Between Wednesday, Jan. 9, and Tuesday, Jan. 22, voters may register or update their records between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and between 9 a.m. and noon on Sunday, according to the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners.
Those who register during the grace period may not vote at their home polling places on Feb. 5. They must vote at the Chicago Board of Elections, at 69 W. Washington St., Suite 600.
To register to vote, you must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years old by Feb. 5. To register, two pieces of identification are required, the first with the current address of residence.
