Insult To Injury For Laid-Off Tribune Workers
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ―
Recently laid-off Tribune workers are being left in the lurch with the company's bankruptcy filing. The company said it cut off severance payments and deferred compensation to the former workers. That means they'll have to get in line with other creditors.
The Tribune sent out a memo to employees Monday saying payroll and health benefits will be unaffected by the filing, according to a Tribune reporter who asked not to be identified.
