Three people were injured after a tour bus carrying a cross-country drum and bugle corps crashed on Interstate 80 near Minooka.
Around 6:20 a.m., one of five tour buses carrying members of the Toledo, Ohio-based Glassmen Drum & Bugle Corps crashed on westbound I-80 just west of the junction with I-55, near a road work zone.
The bus struck the back of a semi near West Shepley Road, according to an Illinois State Police Joliet District sergeant.
Fire officials called box alarm, automatically sending five ambulances.
The sergeant said three adults suffered minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital.
Rescue crews were seen carrying a man believed to be driver off the bus, placing him on a gurney with a cervical collar, and loading him into an ambulance. The others were seen being taken to ambulances afterward.
Along with the bus, an equipment trailer and a quad-cab trailer with a flatbed attached were also damaged in the crash.
The Glassmen Drum & Bugle Corps runs camps that provide music education and summer touring experience to young people, and appeared last week at the rally for a crowd of about 500 people at the Rally for Music Education in Washington, D.C. The band has also toured Europe.
