Tinley Park Victims Mourned; Killer Still At Large

Suspect Sketch Expected By End Of Week

CHICAGO (CBS) ― On a snowy night at a funeral home in south suburban Homewood, friends and family came to say goodbye to Carrie Chiuso, one of the five women shot and killed by a gunman still at large.

There were in total six random victims of a still faceless killer. The women who died together were from different backgrounds, professions and walks of life. Now their loved ones join in mourning.

Brian Bishop's wife Jeni was an intensive care unit nurse in South Bend, Ind. He reached out to the other grieving families Wednesday.
"To the families of the other four fatal victims, we send our condolences and hold you in our prayers," Bishop said. "And to the surviving victim, we wish you a full recovery and keep you in prayer as well."

The surviving victim spoke out Wednesday for the first time.

"I am working with the authorities," she said," in any way possible for all of the victims."

Together they are working on a suspect sketch that police hope will be completed by the end of the week.

She gave a more precise description of the victim, saying he is large-framed, his weight proportionate to his height, with three to five "puffy" corn rows that start at the front of his head. One of those corn rows has green beads and hangs over his right cheek.

It is still not clear how or why an apparent armed robbery became mass murder, preceded, police say by the killer fondling one of his victims.

Authorities are still scrutinizing video from every security camera in the area, and say they have identified several vehicles of interest.

The woman who survived attempted to comfort mourners gathered Wednesday night, saying, "Please know that during the unfathomable events of that day their thoughts were focused on you and coming home."

She called them "five of the bravest women I have ever met."

Police Wednesday night feel they're making progress. But any suggestion that an arrest is imminent, the commander in charge of the investigation said, would be "wishful thinking."

Their best bet might be the sketch being prepared with the help of a young woman with no shortage of courage herself.
