How Can I Watch The Super Bowl On CBS 2 In HD?
(CBS)
To watch the Bears play in Super Bowl XLI in high definition on CBS 2 Chicago, you have three choices:
1. Over The Air With A Standard Antenna WBBM-DT, CBS 2's high-definition channel, is available free of charge by simply connecting an HD television set to a properly sized antenna. The key word here is "properly sized." CBS 2 highly discourages the use of attic antennas and portable indoor antennas, including old-fashioned "rabbit ears." If you have been using a roof-mounted antenna for standard definition television, you are all ready to get HD. When connected properly, your channel display will indicate that you are watching channel 2.1.
Some early HDTVs were sold as "HD-ready." To receive CBS 2's HD signal on one of these sets you will have to purchase an HDTV set-top box, which will then be connected to your television. These are available at any local retailer where HD sets are sold. With a set-top box and an HD ready television set, you'll be ready on game day.
2. Cable The Chicago market is served by multiple cable systems: Comcast, Wide Open West and RCN. Each vendor has CBS 2 available in HD as part of a package. Please contact your local cable provider for information about HD delivery. Please note that in some cases it may require a cable box upgrade.
3. Home Satellite Dish Both DirecTV and Dish Network have CBS 2 available in HD. This service is also part of a package and may require additional equipment.
To help you out with all of this, CBS 2 has established an HD hotline: 312-202-2375. Please leave a specific message and a CBS 2 engineer will call you back as soon as possible. CBS 2 will even have engineers available on Super Bowl Sunday for any last minute questions.
