Woman Killed, After Night Club Fight In Stone Park

STONE PARK, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) ― A young woman is dead after a fight inside a west suburban nightclub spilled outside, where three people were stabbed and two -- including the woman -- were struck by a hit-and-run vehicle early Thursday in Stone Park.

Shortly after midnight, emergency personnel responded to the Nitro Nightclub Inc., 3815 W. Lake St., for a report of a fight, according to Stone Park Fire Department Lt. Chris Soda.

"We encountered multiple incidents," according to Soda, who said a fight was inside the club moved outside, where three people were stabbed and two people were struck by a hit-and-run vehicle.

"Every couple of minutes it was something else," Soda said.

Galissa Brown, 18, of far southwestern Sheridan, Ill., was struck by an automobile at in the 4200 block of Lake Street, a spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.

Brown and other female pedestrian were struck by a vehicle heading west on Lake Street, according to a release from Stone Park police.

Both women were taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood where Brown was pronounced dead at 2:05 a.m. The other woman was treated and released, police said.

Police believe Brown was struck by an older model Chevrolet Caprice which is possibly blue. Several witnesses and persons of interest have been interviewed, the release said.

Three males were also taken to Loyola from Lake Street in critical condition, according to Soda, who did not know their ages.

Stone Park police had no information on the stabbings Thursday night, and would not confirm whether the stabbings and the hit-and-run were related.

Seven towns assisted Stone Park and seven ambulances were sent to the scene.

Police urge anyone with information about the incident to call (708) 450-3215.
