Missing Woman's Family Losing Hope Of Her Return

Search Extends To Michigan, Near Stebic Family Cabin

SLIDESHOW: Did You Know? Stars From Chicago!

CHICAGO (CBS) ― The search for a missing Plainfield woman is moving in a new direction.

Lisa Stebic hasn't been seen since April and now, as CBS 2's Suzanne Le Mignot reports, billboards will soon go up near the Stebic family cabin in Michigan.

"As time goes on, you know, it becomes more apparent, it sinks in that Lisa's not coming back," said Lisa Stebic's cousin Melanie Greenberg.

Greenberg says she's lost hope her cousin will be found alive. Stebic has been missing for almost six months.

"We need to find the answers and we need to find Lisa and give her the proper respect that she needs to put her to rest, the way she should be put to rest," Greenberg said.

Lisa Stebic's estranged husband, Craig Stebic, said he last saw her when she left their Plainfield home on April 30. Since that time, police have named Craig Stebic as a person of interest in her disappearance.

"We need any tip, any lead that we can get," Greenberg said.

Right now, Lisa Stebic is on the FBI's kidnapped and missing persons Web site. There have been massive searches for her on foot. A psychic was even brought in to help. Prayer vigils were held.  Billboards, donated by CBS Outdoor Media, were put up in Plainfield and other suburban areas.

Now, thanks to Lamar Advertising, three billboards will go up in Iron Mountain and Iron River, Mich., later this month. They will be located near the Stebic family cabin. Police searched the home after Lisa Stebic disappeared.

"We want them to keep their eyes open, all these hunters and people that are going out there, and if they see something, to please call the Plainfield police," Greenberg said.

Through fundraisers, more than $70,000 in reward money has been collected. The money will be given to anyone who has information about where Lisa Stebic can be found.
