1 Killed, 1 Injured In South Side Drive-By

CHICAGO (STNG) ― One man was killed and another was critically injured in a drive-by shooting Thursday night on the South Side.

About 9:35 p.m., a dark-colored Pontiac Grand Prix pulled up to a car parked at 6701 S. State St. and somebody in the Grand Prix fired multiple shots, police said. Two men inside the parked car were struck.

One of the men suffered multiple gunshot wounds, including a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office said a man in his 20s was dead on the scene. His name and pronouncement information were not immediately available.

Another man was taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

Grand Prix fled after the shooting.

Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
