Lake Forest Man Dies In Starved Rock Fall

UTICA, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) ― A 21-year-old north suburban man was killed Sunday after falling down a canyon at Starved Rock State Park southwest of Joliet in LaSalle County.

Milos Hrsto of Lake Forest was pronounced dead at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru at 12:55 p.m. Sunday, according to LaSalle County Coroner's office Chief Deputy Ed Taylor.

Hrsto, who was a college student, fell from a canyon at Starved Rock and was rushed to the emergency room, where he died from his injuries, Taylor said.

Autopsy results were pending toxicology tests and an investigation by the Illinois Dept. of Natural Resources, Taylor said.
