No One Injured In Incident, Officers Did Not Return Fire

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ― One person is in custody after shots were fired at a police patrol car near the Northwest Side's Kosciuszko Park Sunday night.

"A police unit was on patrol when an offender fired shots at officers and was subsequently taken into custody," about 10:49 p.m. in the 3900 block of West Diversey Avenue, police News Affairs Officer John Henry said, citing preliminary information.

No officers were struck by the gunfire and officers did not return fire, Henry said.

The incident occurred near Kosciuszko Park.

One person is in custody early Monday, but charges were pending a police investigation, according to Henry.

No one was injured in the incident, according to a Grand Central District police lieutenant.

Grand Central Area detectives are investigating.
