Man Shot And Killed On Porch
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ―
A 26-year old man standing on his porch was fatally shot late Saturday in the Back-of-the-Yards neighborhood.
The man was on a porch in the 4900 block of South Marshfield Avenue about 11:20 p.m. when a "known" offender approached on foot and shot the man in the chest, police News Affairs Officer David Banks said.
Jason Gill, of 4940 S. Marshfield Ave., was fatally shot at home. He was pronounced dead at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County at 12:10 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
The 25-year-old shooter fled the scene westbound through a gangway, Banks said, citing preliminary information.
Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.
