Woman Found Hanging in Abandoned Building

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ― Police are investigating the death of a woman found hanging in an abandoned building on the Far South Side Sunday afternoon.

The woman, who remains unidentified Saturday night, was found hanging in an abandoned building at 34 E. 120th St., according to a Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Police responded to the building about 2:30 p.m. after a caller reported the discovery, police News Affairs Officer JoAnn Taylor said.

The woman is believed to have been in her 30s, police said.

Police are conducting a death investigation and are awaiting results of a Monday autopsy, Taylor said.

Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
