South Holland College Closed Due To Threat
SOUTH HOLLAND, Ill. (AP) ―
Officials say South Suburban College outside of Chicago is closed due to threats of violence on campus.
College officials didn't offer any specifics on the information "threatening violence" that was received Tuesday.
Officials say they've conducted a search of a campus building and are investigating with federal and area authorities.
Classes are expected to resume Thursday morning.
The college in South Holland -- about 20 miles south of downtown Chicago -- enrolls about 17,000 students.
Messages left for a college spokesman were not immediately returned.
The closure comes in the wake of two other college closings in Chicago.
Malcolm X college was closed yesterday and St. Xavier University was closed Friday after threatening graffiti were found.
