Bond Hearing Set In Alleged SIU Threat Case

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) ― A former Southern Illinois University student awaiting trial on charges that he threatened a "murderous rampage" is scheduled to appear in court over whether he should remain jailed.

Madison County prosecutors want Olutosin Oduwole's bond revoked.

Oduwole was arrested in July 2007 after police found a gun in his apartment and a note in his car that threatened killings similar to the Virginia Tech shootings.

Oduwole had been free on bond until he was arrested last month in Missouri. Authorities say he violated terms of his release by lying on a form related to his attempt to buy a .45-caliber semiautomatic handgun.

Oduwole's attorney countered that his client is confused about what he allegedly did wrong and doesn't think he violated his bond.
