1 Killed, 1 Wounded In Far South Side Shooting

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ― A 17-year-old died early Sunday after being shot on the Far South Side. A second man also was shot and listed in "stable" condition.

The two men were standing in the 12000 block of South Lafayette Avenue when an offender approached and opened fire, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

A 17-year-old died on the scene, and man in his 30s suffered a graze wound to the head, and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

Killed was Marlow Jones of 11945 S. LaSalle St., a Cook County Medical Examiner's office spokesman said.

The shooting is possibly gang related.

Grand Crossing Area detectives are investigating.
