4 Injured When School Bus, CTA Bus Collide
CHICAGO (STNG) ―
Four adults were injured Tuesday morning when a CTA bus and a school bus collided in a West Side intersection.
The two buses collided at 7:18 a.m. at the intersection of West 16th Street and South Kostner Avenue, according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Richard Rosado.
A No.18 bus that was traveling eastbound on West 16th Street and was turning onto Kostner Avenue when it struck a school bus, according to CTA spokeswoman Kim Myles, who said the school bus, which was not carrying any passengers, may then have struck an automobile.
The driver of the school bus may have been injured but it was not carrying any passengers, according to Myles, who said three people, including the driver, were on the CTA bus.
Two people were seriously to critically injured and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. Two others were taken in fair condition to Saint Anthony Hospital.
All those injured were adults, according to Rosado.
Myles said the crash did not involve any major injuries but did not know immediately know whether anyone on the CTA bus was hospitalized.
