Savio Family Files Notice To Reopen Civil Case

Drew Peterson's 3rd Wife Died In Bathtub; Family Says Her Estate Was Mishandled

CHICAGO (AP) ― The father of Kathleen Savio and one of his children have filed notice in Will County Circuit Court of their intent to reopen the estate of the former wife of Drew Peterson.

The motion filed earlier this week will be both a petition to reopen the case and a response to a January 31 petition by Kathleen Savio's sister and brother, Anna Doman and Henry Savio. That petition seeks to block the father from being named executor of the estate.

In March 2004, Kathleen Savio was found drowned in her bathtub shortly before the divorce settlement between her and Peterson was finalized.

Prosecutors have said evidence indicates her 2004 death may have been a homicide staged to look like an accident. Peterson has not been named a suspect in her death.

Peterson has been named a suspect in the disappearance of Stacy Peterson, his second wife.
