School Reopening Depends on Law Officials' Advice

CHICAGO (AP) ― Officials of a Catholic liberal arts college are consulting with law enforcement officials as they decide when to reopen.

St. Xavier University shut down indefinitely last week after threatening graffiti were found scrawled in the bathroom of a freshman dorm.

University spokesman Joe Moore tells The Associated Press that students will be informed of a decision through e-mails, phone text messages and a special school Web site.

Moore says officials are hoping to open as soon as possible.

Graffiti were found twice this month, including a message that reads -- quote -- "Be prepared to die on 4/14."

The school closed down campuses in Chicago and suburban Orland Park.
