2 Women Arrested After Incident At Boystown Bar

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ― Two Lake View neighborhood women ended a night of drinking and revelry at a Halsted Street gay bar by getting arrested for battery and disorderly conduct after allegedly kicking a bartender, slapping a bouncer, dragging a man into the women's restroom and interfering repeatedly with police.

About 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, Jessica Crosswhite, 24, was thrown out of Roscoe's at 3356 N. Halsted St. for allegedly being very intoxicated and bringing a male into the women's washroom, police said. She also allegedly kicked a bar manager.

As she was leaving, Crosswhite allegedly slapped a bouncer in the face, Town Hall District police said. The bouncer called police, who arrested her.

As a squad car was attempting to leave with Crosswhite, her friend, 28-year-old Elizabeth Richards, stepped in front of the car numerous times, attempting to block it from pulling away. She then and screamed at an officer, saying she was doing so to "make you do your job," police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien said.

Richards was arrested, as well.

According to Town Hall District police, after she was arrested, the younger woman told police the bouncer, who was not the man taken into the washroom, allegedly raped her. Police were investigating her allegation and she was taken to Thorek Memorial Hospital to be examined, police said.

Crosswhite, of the 400 block of West Wrightwood Ave., was charged with one count of battery for kicking the manager, O'Brien said.

Richards, of the 3400 block of North Halsted Street, was charged with one count of disorderly conduct for screaming at police and trying to prevent them from taking her friend.

Both charges are misdemeanors, O'Brien said.
