Man Shot To Death On Rogers Park Sidewalk

CHICAGO (STNG) ― A 26-year-old man was found lying face down on a Rogers Park sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds Saturday night.

The man was shot multiple times about 8:10 p.m. while standing in the street in the 2000 block of West Birchwood Avenue, police said. He was found lying face down on the sidewalk.

Willie Bloomingburg, of 2018 W. Arthur Ave., was pronounced dead at Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston at 9:10 p.m., a spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.

Police said Bloomingburg was a possible gang member.

Belmont Area detectives are investigating.
