Police Seek Help In Finding Suspected Killer
JOLIET TOWNSHIP, Ill. (STNG) ―
Police are asking for the public's help to find out who fatally shot a man outside a liquor store last week.
On Dec. 30, Ralph Bridges, 56, had shopped and walked out of Ranch Liquors, 1913 S. Chicago St. Around 10 p.m. employees heard a bang from the parking lot and Bridges walked back inside.
According to reports, Bridges told the clerks, "I've been shot," and collapsed. He was taken to Silver Cross Hospital where he died about 45 minutes later without regaining consciousness.
"We have not received much information and are hoping there's someone out there who may be able to come forward," Will County Sheriff's spokesman Pat Barry said.
Store employees told detectives they heard a car speed out of the parking lot as Bridges returned, but did not see what kind of vehicle it was.
Barry said investigators are particularly interested to speak with anyone who may have had contact with Bridges earlier that night
Will County CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest. CrimeStoppers can be reached anonymously at (800) 323-6734.
Anyone with information can also call sheriff's police at 815-727-8574 and contact Detectove Ratajack at Ext. 4925 or Detective Sgt. Talmontas at Ext. 4928.
