Man Shot By Police In Little Village

CHICAGO (STNG) ― Police wounded a man early Saturday in Southwest Side's Little Village neighborhood.

About 2 a.m., police saw a person firing a gun in the 2600 block of South Kedzie Avenue and shot him, police said. Two officers fired their weapons, Independent Police Review Authority Chief Administrator Ilana Rosenzweig said.

The man was taken to an area hospital in good condition, police said. Fire Media Affairs Cmdr. Will Knight said the Chicago Fire Department does not have a report of anybody being transported from the shooting.

Nobody else was injured, Rosenzweig said.

The Independent Police Review Authority is investigating.
