4 Officers Hurt In Northwest Side Crash

Police: Injuries Not Considered Serious

CHICAGO (CBS) ― Four Chicago Police officers are recovering Monday morning after their car was involved in a crash with a van in the Northwest Side's Belmont-Cragin neighborhood.

The officers were in an unmarked police car about 11 p.m. in the 4900 block of West Diversey Avenue when a van struck their vehicle from behind, police News Affairs Officer David Banks said.

The four officers were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Resurrection Medical Center with injuries that were not considered serious, Banks said.

The cause of the crash is unclear. A 28-year-old man driving the van is expected to be ticketed for the crash, according to Banks.
