A Chicago photojournalist has been released, after being arrested while covering a police-involved shooting in the Englewood neighborhood.
Freelance photographer Mike Anzaldi was arrested on charges of resisting and obstructing a peace officer.
He had been covering an incident Tuesday in which an off-duty Chicago Police officer shot and killed a man who allegedly tried to rob him at gunpoint at 63rd and Honore streets in the West Englewood neighborhood.
Anzaldi said he was held for nine hours, and that police confiscated a video camera and two still cameras.
"These are not evidence. These are personal property," Anzaldi said. "These cameras contained images of the last two days of news, as well as images of my family."
Anzaldi said the still cameras were returned after his release, but with about 500 images missing. He said police kept the video camera and tapes.
A police spokesman said Anzaldi continued to enter a crime scene after he was told not to, and refused to show credentials or other identification.
