Thousands Of Child Porn Images Found On Computer
CORTLAND, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) ―
A rural DeKalb County man was arrested Wednesday after federal agents allegedly found thousands of pornographic images of children on his computer.
Paul Campbell, 51, of rural Cortland, was charged with transporting child pornography via his computer, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney's office. Cortland is about 65 miles west of Chicago.
Campbell, known by his screen name "boredad," allegedly uploaded the pornographic images to a Web site on April 28 and again on May 4, the release said. An ICE agent monitoring a chat room on the site captured the images and an investigation was launched.
Agents searched Campbell's home Wednesday and found thousands of images on his computer, the release said. Campbell was ordered held in federal custody pending a 1 p.m. hearing.
If convicted, he faces a minimum of 5 years in prison and a maximum of 20 years, plus fines of up to $250,000.
