Fires Damage Buildings In Lincoln Park, Chatham
No One Injured In Blazes On Halsted Street, 87th Street
CHICAGO (CBS) ―
Two separate early Wednesday fires -- one in the Lincoln Park neighborhood and the other in a South Side bungalow -- were controlled within a half hour without injuries, according to the fire department.
At 3:38 a.m., a blaze started at four-story building at 2630 N. Halsted St., according to Fire Media Affairs Chief Joe Roccasalva.
The 25-by-75 foot building has a business on the first floor and is residential on the upper floors. It used to house the Bombshell Salon, which has since moved to Roscoe Village.
The fire was extinguished by about 4 a.m., according to Roccasalva, who said no one was hurt.
At 4:24 a.m. another fire started at a 1 1/2-story bungalow at 837 E. 87th St., he said.
Roccasalva said the house fire was also doused in about a half hour and no one was hurt.
