If you're flying out of O'Hare International Airport for the holidays, you're going to have lots and lots of company.
A survey by Orbitz.com indicates that O'Hare will be the busiest airport in the country this Thanksgiving holiday.
Analysts at Orbitz say if you want to avoid the crowds, consider flying out of Midway Airport instead. Midway didn't even make the top ten.
Orbitz also suggests flexibility in travel plans for example, departing on Monday, Nov. 23 for Thanksgiving and returning on Monday, Nov. 30. Orbitz also suggests checking in online, keeping close track of your flight status, and being prepared for security screenings.
The busiest airport after O'Hare thins Thanksgiving holidays will be Los Angeles International Airport, according to the Orbitz survey. Rounding out the top ten are Denver International, San Francisco International, Atlanta Hartsfield International, Boston Logan International, New York LaGuardia, New York John F. Kennedy International, Newark Liberty International, and Seattle Tacoma International.
Curiously, the least busy airport for Thanksgiving is San Jose International.
