Woman Attacked On Northwestern Campus

Attack Happened In Hallway At Technological Institute

EVANSTON, Ill. (CBS) ― There's danger on the campus of Northwestern University, as police search for a man who sexually abused a student inside a campus building.

Campus police say at 9 p.m. Monday, a man approached a female student in a second floor hallway at the Technological Institute, 2145 Sheridan Rd. in Evanston, and tried to start a conversation.

When the student began to walk away, he grabbed her arm and began to grab her below the waist. The victim screamed at which point the suspect fled, a campus alert said.

Northwestern police conducted a search of the building and surrounding area, but did not find the suspect.

The suspect is described as a clean-shaven black male with a dark complexion, 25 years old, 5-foot-8 and with a thin to medium build. He also has shoulder-length hair braids. He was last seen wearing a white oversized short sleeve T-shirt, the alert said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Northwestern University Police at (847) 491-3456.
