Robber Hits Another North Community Bank Branch
Branches Of Bank Have Been Robbed At Least 4 Times This Month
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ―
For at least the fourth time this month and the second time in seven days, the same suspect may have robbed a North Community Bank branch.
The latest robbery occurred about 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the North Community Bank branch at 2335 N. Clark St. The same suspect may have been the robber when the same North Community branch was robbed about 9:21 a.m. last Wednesday, Oct. 24.
According to unconfirmed reports, the robber Wednesday is described as a white male wearing a black sweatshirt and black sweatpants, and just as in last Wednesday's robbery of the same branch, the robber wore a hockey goalie's mask, also referred to as a "Jason-type" Halloween mask.
No one was injured in Wednesday's robbery, police News Affairs Officer Marcel Bright said.
It was the fifth time in the last two weeks a North Community Bank branch was robbed and possibly the fourth by the same man. On Oct. 15 a branch at Halsted and Armitage was robbed, and on Oct. 22, branches at 1561 N. Wells St. and 3180 N. Broadway were robbed about 30 minutes apart.
The FBI did not immediately have information on the latest robbery.
