One of two Naperville middle school boys accused of sexually assaulting a classmate pleaded guilty Tuesday to aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony.
According to Charles Pelkie, Will County State's Attorney's director of public affairs, the 12-year-old boy was sentenced to four years of probation following a Nov. 11 incident
in which he and another boy, 11, were accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old classmate in a home on Naperville's south side. The boys were attending Gregory Middle School.
The defendant must also comply with any counseling and evaluation recommended by probation officers, including a sex offender evaluation. He cannot be enrolled in any school with the victim, and must have no contact with the victim, his family or residence, Pelkie said. He also must write a letter of apology to the victim and pay court costs and half restitution for the victim's counseling.
The second defendant is scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. Monday, Pelkie said.
