Franklin's Acquaintance Arrested In Unrelated Case
No Person Of Interest Identified In Pharmaceutical Rep's Death
CHICAGO (CBS) ―
Police have arrested an acquaintance of a woman whose body was found week after going missing for nine days, but the ex-boyfriend's charges are not related to the case.
Reginald Potts, 30, has been charged with misdemeanor battery. He was arrested on Friday in the 800 block of South Wabash Avenue, police News Affairs officers told CBS 2.
Potts is an acquaintance of Nailah Franklin, 28, whose body was found a week ago Thursday after a frantic nine-day search. Franklin was reported missing on Sept. 19 after failing to show up for an important work meeting. She worked as a pharmaceutical representative for Eli Lilly & Co.
The Chicago Sun-Times reported Potts was arrested while talking with a reporter from the newspaper, who heard him complain that he believed officers were harassing him.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office has not identified a cause of death for Franklin pending a police death investigation. No person of interest has been identified in her death.
