Movie Usher Charged For Fatally Stabbing Teen

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ― A North Side movie usher has been charged in the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old boy outside a CTA Red Line station Dec. 19 in the Rogers Park neighborhood on the North Side.

Montrel Williams, of the 7600 block of North Bosworth Avenue,
was charged with murder at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday in the Dec. 19 fatal stabbing of Isiah Stroud in the 1500 block of West Jarvis Avenue at 8:15 p.m., police said.

Williams, 18, was arrested Sunday at 10:45 p.m. at 6552 N. Sheridan Rd., police said.

Stroud, of 4040 W. Roscoe St., was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was pronounced dead at 8:50 p.m. Dec. 19, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. An autopsy Dec. 20 determined Stroud died of a stab wound to the back and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner's office.

According to the medical examiner's office, Stroud was found at 1532 W. Jarvis Ave., which is steps away from the CTA's Jarvis Red Line station.

Williams' occupation is listed on a police report as a movie theater usher.

Belmont Area detectives are investigating.
