NW Suburban Man Charged With Molesting Teen

LAKE IN THE HILLS, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) ― A 51-year-old northwest suburban man faces criminal charges for allegedly molesting a teenage girl.

Michael J. Miterko of Lake in the Hills is charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to an indictment filed Nov. 20 in McHenry County Circuit Court.
Lake in the Hills police Sgt. Robert Harper said officers received a call to go to Miterko's residence at 179 Cool Stone Bend at 6:28 p.m. on Oct. 30 for a domestic disturbance. Officers then were informed of the alleged abuse.
Miterko voluntarily accompanied officers to the police station, where he was arrested at 11:39 p.m., Harper said.
Police did not reveal the age of the alleged victim, but the indictment described her as at least 13 years old and younger than 17.
Lake in the Hills Police Chief of Support Services Mary Frake said there were no indications of other victims. She added Miterko was charged with five separate occasions of abuse.
As of late Monday, Miterko remained in McHenry County Jail on $60,000 bond. His next court date is Dec. 16 for a status hearing.
Aggravated criminal sexual abuse is a Class 2 felony, punishable by three to seven years in prison.
