Woman's Body Found In Trunk In Will County
Woman Was Reported Missing Wednesday
FRANKFORT, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) ―
The body of a young woman reported missing by her family Wednesday was found inside the trunk of car near southwest suburban Frankfort on Friday morning and officials are calling the death "suspicious."
A citizen found the body inside a vehicle on 78th Avenue in unincorporated Frankfort Township in Will County, according to Will County Sheriff's office spokesman Pat Barry.
Sheriff's office spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer said the woman's body was found at 7:22 a.m. on 78th Avenue near U.S. 30.
The sheriff's office received a call Wednesday from the family about a missing woman from the Frankfort Square area who, the caller said, may have been suicidal, Hoffmeyer said.
Detectives are working to figure out if the call was authentic and whether the "identities match up," she said.
Hoffmeyer said the young woman, whose name was not immediately released, may have been a run-away.
Hoffmeyer did not know whether the woman suffered any violence to her body, but called the death "suspicious.
Sheriff's police and the Will County Coroner's office are investigating. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday.
