Man Dies After Throat Is Cut Near Midway Airport
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ―
A 28-year-old south suburban man was found stabbed to death late Friday near Midway Airport on the Southwest Side.
An autopsy Saturday revealed the man suffered multiple stab and incised wounds, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. His death has been ruled a homicide.
The man has since been identified as George Ramirez, of 4831 W. 119th St., Alsip, according to the medical examiner's office.
Police received a call about a person down in the 6100 block of South Menard Avenue and found the man suffering from a laceration to the throat, according to police News Affairs Officer John Henry. The incident happened about 11:05 p.m. Friday.
Ramirez was found at 6140 S. Menard Ave., according to the medical examiner's office.
Ramirez was found dead on the scene by police. He was taken to the Stein Institute, where he was pronounced dead at 3:15 a.m. Saturday, according to the medical examiner's office.
The offender is unknown, Henry said.
Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.
