2 More Arrested In Death Of NW Indiana Woman

RENSSELAER, Ind. (Sun-Times Media Wire) ― Two more people have been arrested in the case of a missing Jasper County, Indiana woman whose body was found buried in neighboring Newton County.

Newton County Sheriff Donald Hartman Sr. said he did not know the names of the new suspects but believed they were brothers.

The arrests were made as part of the investigation of the homicide of Rosalba Silvana Ricchio, 54, of DeMotte, Ind. Ricchio was reported missing March 11 and Andrew Flynn, 26, of Newton County, eventually led police to her body in a shallow grave near Newton County roads 75W and 110N, according to police reports.

He also admitted to helping take her from the house, according to the reports.

A Monday autopsy showed that Ricchio died at the scene of her burial from blunt force trauma to the head and neck, Newton County Coroner Scott McCord said. It appears that a blunt object caused the damage, he said.

Although officials are waiting on toxicology reports for more a precise report, a timeline provided by one of the suspects led officials to believe she died sometime between 10 p.m. March 9 to 1 a.m. March 10, McCord said.

Officials filed a probable cause affidavit against Flynn on Tuesday, although Hartman said he did not know what the charges were and the courthouse was closed at press time. Hartman said that the two other individuals will likely be charged with assisting a criminal.
