Police Seek Help Finding Car In Hit-And-Run

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ― Chicago Police announced early Saturday it is asking for the public's helping locating a vehicle that killed a 13-year-old boy in an April 3 hit-and-run crash. 

Martin Urbina Jr., 13, of 3923 W. 70th Pl., was hit by a vehicle April 3 at 5954 S. California Ave. and was pronounced dead at 9:06 p.m. April 3 at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

A car traveling north on California Avenue struck Urbina about 8:30 p.m. April 3 as he crossed the street, authorities said.

The vehicle, described as a gold, four-door car, continued northbound after the crash, according to a police release issued Saturday. The car has windshield damage from the accident.

On June 20, Urbina's family offered at $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the driver.

Anyone who saw the vehicle is asked to call the police Major Accident Investigation Unit at (312) 745-4521.
