Woman Shot Dead On Southeast Side Street
Bonje Cunningham, 19, Pronounced Dead After Being Shot In Face
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ―
A 19-year-old woman died Friday night following being shot on the South Side.
Bonje Cunningham, 19, of 8512 S. Escanaba Ave., died of a gunshot wound suffered at 7933 S. Marquette Ave. She was pronounced dead at South Shore Hospital at 10:23 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
The woman was shot on the 7900 block of South Marquette Avenue about 10 p.m., police News Affairs Officer David Banks said.
She was shot in the face and was dead at the scene, police News Affairs Officer John Henry said.
Police have no information on the shooter Friday night but are investigating the incident as a homicide.
Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
