Postal Worker Charged In 2 Sex Attacks
Tommie Naylor Arrested In Forest Park
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ―
A U.S. Postal Service employee has been charged with the sexual assault of two teenage girls on the South Side, one in 2006 and one in 2008.
Tommie Naylor, 41, of 7958 S. Yale Ave., was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault and two counts of aggravated kidnapping, according to a police report.
He was arrested at 12:20 p.m. Wednesday at 7500 W. Roosevelt Rd. in Forest Park and charges were approved at 10:30 p.m., according to the report.
Naylor was allegedly responsible for two assaults, one in 2006 involving a 16-year-old girl and another in November 2008 involving a 15-year-old girl.
The first victim allegedly identified Naylor in a photo array as the person who approached, displayed a weapon and forced her into a vehicle at 7500 S. Lafayette Ave. on May 10, 2006, the report said.
Naylor forced the girl, who was waiting for a CTA bus, into his vehicle using a screwdriver and sexually assaulted her, according to prosecutors. The victim was able to provide police with a partial license plate, which aided in the arrest.
In the second attack, which occurred on Nov. 12, 2008, about 9:21 p.m., Naylor approached a 15-year-old girl in the 7600 block of South Constance, prosecutors allege. The girl was leaving a friend's house and decided to go to the store.
Naylor allegedly forced her into his black SUV using a knife, drove her to a vacant lot and sexually assaulted her.
USPS spokesman Mark Reynolds confirmed Naylor is a postal service employee who works at the Bulk Mail Center in west suburban Forest Park, where he was arrested. He did not know how long Naylor has worked for the USPS.
In both assaults, Naylor was identified in a photo array and proved to be a DNA match in both assaults, court records said.
