Bristol Renaissance Faire, featuring jousting matches, a replica of a 16th century ship, carnival rides, food and beverages. 12550 120th Ave., Kenosha, Wis. Held Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.

August 31-Sept. 3: Taste of Polonia, with traditional Polish food and nonstop music. Copernicus Center, 5216 W. Lawrence Ave.

August 31-Sept. 3: African Festival of the Arts, a celebration of African influence in American culture in its 17th year, featuring food, fine arts, drummers, and family entertainment. Washington Park, 51st Street at Cottage Grove Avenue.

Aug. 31-Sept. 3: The Last Fling, a final summer blast featuring several live bands, a carnival, and other fun. Naperville Riverwalk.

Sept. 1-2: Bash on Wabash, with live entertainment and fun activities. Wabash Avenue at Roosevelt Road.

Sept. 7-8: Windy City Wine Festival, with wine tastings, seminars, cooking demonstrations and live music. Daley Bicentennial Plaza, Grant Park, 337 E. Randolph St.

Sept. 7-9: German American Fest, with traditional cultural programs, music and food. Lincoln, Leland and Western avenues.

Sept. 8: Guinness Oyster Fest, ushering in the unofficial beginning of fall. Division Street between Damen and Wood streets.

Sept. 8-9: Lakeview East Fine Art Festival, featuring arts and crafts, live music, and family activities. Broadway between Belmont Avenue and Roscoe Street.

Sept. 9: Italian Village Ferrari Fest,, a car festival featuring food, wine, and of course, an assortment of Ferraris. Monroe Street between Clark and Dearborn streets.

Sept. 12-14: Arts and Crafts Marketplace, on Canal Street between Jackson and Van Buren streets.

Sept. 13-16: Little Village Festival, a celebration in the Little Village neighborhood. 26th Street at Kostner Avenue.


Sept. 14-15: Naperville Wine Fest, a celebration of new wines. Naper Settlement, 523 S. Webster St., Naperville.

Sept. 15: The Wine Crush in Old Town, with tasting of more than 100 vintages and international cuisine. Wells Street from North Avenue to Schiller Street.

Sept. 15-16: Celtic Fest Chicago, featuring several stages of music, competitions, and a contest for men in kilts. Grant Park.

Sept. 15-16: Chicago's Taste of Romania, featuring roasting, grape stomping, and plenty of Romanian cuisine. Continental Café, 3661 N. Elston Ave.

Sept. 21-22: Lincoln Park October Fest, a new tradition in Lincoln Park. Southport and Clybourn avenues.

Sept. 28-30: St. Alphonsus Oktoberfest, an authentic celebration with bands, beer and vendors. Lincoln, Southport and Wellington avenues.

Sept. 30: 57th Street Children's Book Fair, featuring thousands of books, live music, and educational displays. 57th Street between Kimbark and Dorchester avenues and Kimbark Avenue between 56th and 57th streets.
