4 Kids, 2 Adults Hurt When Car Hits Them
Victims Were Crossing Street
CHICAGO (STNG) ―
Four children and two adults were injured when a car struck them as they were crossing a South Side street Tuesday afternoon.
The accident happened about noon at 3465 S. Lithuanica Ave. in the Bridgeport neighborhood, according to Fire Media Affairs Assistant Director Eve Rodriguez. The six were crossing the street when they were struck by a car, she said. Police confirmed the information.
Four children, ages unknown, were taken to Comer Children's Hospital in serious to critical condition, Rodriguez said. One adult was taken in fair to serious condition to the University of Chicago Hospitals and another adult in fair to serious condition was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, she said.
An EMS Plan I response, which sends five ambulances to the scene, was called and secured at 12:19 p.m., Rodriguez said.
