Woman Raped In Lincoln Park Alley
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ―
A woman was sexually assaulted early Friday in the Near North Side Lincoln Park neighborhood.
About 2:50 a.m., police received a report of a sexual assault that took place sometime overnight near Lincoln and Armitage avenues, News Affairs Officer JoAnn Taylor said.
A woman in her 30s was reportedly drinking at a local bar before waking up in an alley being sexually assaulted, Taylor said. The woman told police she did not remember how she got to the alley or the events leading up to the assault.
Police did not know if the woman had been drugged. She was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in good condition, Taylor said.
The attacker was a white male, but the victim could not provide a further description, Taylor said.
Belmont Area detectives are investigating.
